Headquartered at the NYU School of Law, Brennan Center for Justice is a think tank that also provides legal services and engages in public advocacy. Their current areas of focus include combating voter suppression and gerrymandering, prison reform, and making certain that individual liberties are not excessively curtailed in the name of national security.

There are 10 million Americans—a total larger than the population of Virginia—who are living abroad and are eligible to vote. VoteFromAbroad helps them to exercise their franchise, aiding with registration and absentee voting procedures in particular.

Common Cause, originally founded to help bring an end to the Vietnam War, is a watchdog group that pushes back against problematic behavior by politicians, including ethical lapses, corruption, voter suppression, and gerrymandering.

Vote411 provides personalized information about voter registration, candidates for office, and ballot initiatives.

Founded in 1990, RockTheVote works to educate young people about the political process, and to get them registered and voting.

FairVote advocates for reforms to the voting process, particularly ranked-choice voting.

At the name suggests, the League of Women Voters was initially founded to register women voters and to encourage them to vote. While the League still does that, and also recruits female candidates for office, they have also expanded their mission to include advocacy for progressive political positions, including campaign finance reform, universal health care, abortion rights, climate change action and environmental regulation, and gun control.

Like RockTheVote, HeadCount.org is particularly focused on registering young voters. They are best known for putting up voter registration booths at concerts, working with such artists as Mary J. Blige, CHVRCHES, Drake, Ariana Grande, Indigo Girls, Maroon 5, Pearl Jam, Phish, Nine Inch Nails, Yo La Tengo, and Neil Young.

Fair Fight was established by Democratic activist and 2018 Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams to combat voter suppression. It also runs registration drives and get-out-the-vote efforts.

Voto Latino, as you might gather from the name, targets Latino voters—particularly young ones—to make certain that they register and that they vote.
