News from the Votemaster

Republicans love Democrats. At least in Nebraska and Connecticut. In Nebraska, which voted for Bush by a 34% margin, Ben Nelson (D-NE) holds a commanding 23% lead over his Republican challenger, Pete Ricketts, 55% to 32%.

In Connecticut, the Republican party has simply abandoned both their candidates, Alan Schlesinger and Alan Gold, who are at an incredible 4%. Sort-of-Democrat Joe Lieberman is at 53% while actual Democrat Ned Lamont is at 41%.

Finally, Michael Bouchard has closed the gap with incumbent Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) to 5%, trailing now by 49% to 44%, but this may simply reflect the usual post-primary bounce.

Note that the values given on the map and spreadsheet average all the state polls during the previous 7 days, so the above numbers are not shown on the map. Whenever you see a "+" in the poll source, that means multiple recent polls are being averaged.
